WINTER WONDERLAND

Well its been forever since I was here so I decided since I took lots of pics of the snow today. It would be a good day to say "Hi" again!

We got the most snow so far last night and the power was off for 4 hours. The winds were 90km so be had blizzard warnings and it definately turned into a blizzard. Our driveway was blocked solid and we finally made it to the end of the driveway and there was only one lane cut in the road. So we still have 2 more feet of snow to go through and we stopped for the night because the wind was picking up and the plow will likely add more to the driveway tonight. We will tackle it again in the morning! I still love winter though!!

I have been doing lots of knitting with all our storm days. I was just checking my Ravelry projects and last year I finished 22 items. So far this year I have finished 10 and its only the end of Feb. I hope I keep this going! My Queue is full and I have lots of WIP.

All these FO can be found on my Ravelry Page
quiltsalot3

I just cast on a vest I bought last year from Knit Picks... Corrie Fair Isle Vest it is so addictive you want to keep knitting one more row to see the pattern change and the colors are beautiful. The wool is really soft too.

Well thats all for today!

Happy Everything!

Wow its been 5 months.... Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, Happy Valentines day, Happy Easter...you get the picture Its been a while... I do have lots of FO! I just haven't been up to blogging but I really enjoy reading every ones blogs! These are just a few of the things I have finished...oh they have all been small items but I am finishing up a sweater and with another 3 maybe more(like 17) wip in the wings waiting patiently to be finished! I really should finish them up...but alas there are soooo many nice new Knitting patterns!

On the house situation...I guess we are finally going to do a little bit of renovating...boxes of fabric are getting packed and new flooring is going to be put down, and a coat or 2 of paint....then maybe I'll actually use my sewing area again...its been a long while but going thru the fabric really makes me want to sew! Maybe I should do a before and after pic of the sewing/computer area...they are so bad right now maybe a picture would be to much!

Oh Well here it is...
DH's computer area is behind this
shelving wall

Please don't judge me to harshly!(you know it really looks worse in person)

I hope this public announcement keeps me trucking along and wanting to post an "after" picture might be just the incentive I need!

Bye for now Dear Friends!
I hope it doesn't take me another 5 months to check in!

Peace and Blessings

Where does the Time go?

Well here we are over 2 weeks into summer and I am still wearing a sweater...We have had a rainy summer so far but the weather seems to be changing and we are having a full moon tonight, as the farmers say "full moon brings a change in the weather" Let's hope so!

I can't believe its been over 2 months since I blogged... I have been doing a lot... I guess well lets get started ...whats been going on sicce I last checked in...

In May; I went to St. FX University for a week to start a 3yr course on Youth Ministry.

We bought a new truck just in time to drive my DD to her prom.

In June; I graduated from a course I was taking here for the past 2 yrs.
My DD graduated from grade 12 and will be leaving for University in Sept.

She is planning on becoming a Dental Hygienist! I have an old dentist chair that I bought at an auction when I lived in BC...I wonder if that was an influence on here career choice... hmmmm?

June was also a month of house cleaning and painting and new windows....no wonder I haven't done much knitting! My DH's parents were up for a nice 2 week visit first time since we moved to PEI. We did a bit of sightseeing and I only took a few pictures...silly girl.

These are the wind turbins up at West Cape.

This was on the way home from a day in C'town around 9pm

My DMIL is a wonderful baker so the oven got a great
workout!

Well since this a knitting blog I should end with a bit about my knitting! I have started a
Juno Regina scarf from knitty

More info can be seen on my ravelry page. It is nice to knit in the summer since it is so light and airy.
I am still working on the Botanical Medallion from Vogue Knitting Summer 09 issue. I thought the medallion would be hard to knit but it was finished in a day and the outside ring is taking a bit longer!

I have lots more to write about and pictures to post but I think I have dragged this out long enough for one day.
Chat again soon!

What a Beautiful Day!

Hi everyone, well its been a while and lots has been happening at home and in my knitting!

My DS#2 got his beginners yesterday!!!Ya Josh!!
We found my Mom's old poodle skirt from many Halloween's ago for my daughter to use in her Step Dance Recital. I am going back to University...Yeah I am going to take a Youth Ministry Course at St. FX the last week in May! I am really excited!!! I always said it's never to late to learn new things!

Talking about learning new things I have really been enjoying my new way of eating...

100 CALORIES PER HOUR AWAKE!

I have been amazed at the amount of calories I use to eat in a day now I am averaging between 1600-1800 per day. For the first 2 weeks I ate every hour and it was great no hunger what so ever...I felt like I was always eating! Now I try to go a little longer between eating but I am still only eating 100 calories per hr. For example for breakfast I had a small bagel and cream cheese and tea which was under 300 cal...then I didn't eat again until lunch and again I had about 300 calories, soup(less than 100 cal) crackers and liverwurst (100 cal) and a few dried apricots and almonds for dessert(200cal)and tea. I find this way of eating I am not constantly looking for snacks but when I am hungry I either have a drink of water or a small snack (100cal). My DH lost a little over 4 lbs in a month and I lost 2 lbs in 2 weeks! We have definitely realized that before we were eating way toooo big of portions and the empty calories were not filling us up!

On the knitting front...I have turned the heel on my monkey sock, what a fun pattern!

The wool is some the gifts I won from Arlene Tats and Knits!

I finished the medallion and started the outside border of the Vogue Cardigan

I also started another baby sweater for keeping babies warm a charity knitting project.

I am almost finished my Noro Love Scarf aka Pioneer Braid Scarf.

Last time I blogged I said I would post a picture of my Soft Brown Shawl that I finished so here it is lazily laying in the sun!

Well winter is here again!

Monday
Yet another storm, boy I wish I would have started my blog sooner! I could of kept track of all these stormy days... there is always next year! My DD has not been to school for 12days due to storms, sick days and March break! I love having her home with us!

"In like a lamb out like a lion" isn't that the March saying well the lion is here today! I am not sure what March 1st was like but the lion is definitely roaring today! Last Tuesday we had a storm also and it carried over til Wed. when I was suppose to go to Ch'town for a meeting but I got caught in the worse white outs I have been in in along time and I unlike my DH love to drive in the snow! I was actually shaking buy the time I decide it was just to dangerous to stay on the road and I turned around!

Well today is another good day to knit and listen to podcasts...when isn't it a good day to knit and listen to podcasts!

Oh last night I had the teens from our Youth group design quilt squares for a raffle quilt they turned out so beautiful...we sure have a bunch of creative teens!!!

Saturday I received yarn( ahhh) in the mail! It was my surprise package from Arlene from Arlene Knits and Tats! It was a lovely package of yarn( 4 balls!) needles tatting shuttles and thread! I may need to try a new craft Tatting...can you believe it there is a craft out there that I haven't tried!!!

That is the Monkey Sock by Cookie A that you see at the bottom...I know the pattern has been around for a while but I hadn't tried it yet...I'm slow...what can I say! What a wonderful pattern and fun to knit!
