WINTER WONDERLAND

Well its been forever since I was here so I decided since I took lots of pics of the snow today. It would be a good day to say "Hi" again!

We got the most snow so far last night and the power was off for 4 hours. The winds were 90km so be had blizzard warnings and it definately turned into a blizzard. Our driveway was blocked solid and we finally made it to the end of the driveway and there was only one lane cut in the road. So we still have 2 more feet of snow to go through and we stopped for the night because the wind was picking up and the plow will likely add more to the driveway tonight. We will tackle it again in the morning! I still love winter though!!

I have been doing lots of knitting with all our storm days. I was just checking my Ravelry projects and last year I finished 22 items. So far this year I have finished 10 and its only the end of Feb. I hope I keep this going! My Queue is full and I have lots of WIP.

All these FO can be found on my Ravelry Page

I just cast on a vest I bought last year from Knit Picks... Corrie Fair Isle Vest it is so addictive you want to keep knitting one more row to see the pattern change and the colors are beautiful. The wool is really soft too.

Well thats all for today!

Peace and Blessing

Happy Sunny April 1st

Monday during the storm!

Tuesday our driveway!

Well we definitely had a bit of a snow storm Monday...Our driveway was full of 4 foot drifts and the plow didn't get here til almost 4pm! DH could not get to work...and he was not a happy camper! I on the other hand totally enjoyed the storm and knit away happily! I even made muffins last night...shh! I don't bake very often and they were gone before they even cooled!

So the schools were closed for 2 days and this morning it was so foggy I couldn't see the bus coming down the road(my usual job every morning at 7:45am waiting at the window to tell my DD that the bus is coming)I couldn't see it till it was right in front of our yard! But an hr. later the sun had burned off the fog and was shining brightly " what a difference a day makes"!

I have decided that I will take a picture out my window and we can watch the changes over the next few months. I have a beautiful forsythia bush, (it was a tree but I trimmed it down after our ice storm last year)out side my window that has the prettiest blooms before any leaves seem to appear on other trees...any way I'll take pictures to watch the progress! I feel like there may be more baking tonight...maybe I should take a picture of that too since it is a rare occurrence!

Oh I forgot to tell you that my wonderful DS#2 made my ravelry button for me(over there on the left)...he is such a computer genius! Thanks Josh!!

Well winter is here again!

Monday
Yet another storm, boy I wish I would have started my blog sooner! I could of kept track of all these stormy days... there is always next year! My DD has not been to school for 12days due to storms, sick days and March break! I love having her home with us!

"In like a lamb out like a lion" isn't that the March saying well the lion is here today! I am not sure what March 1st was like but the lion is definitely roaring today! Last Tuesday we had a storm also and it carried over til Wed. when I was suppose to go to Ch'town for a meeting but I got caught in the worse white outs I have been in in along time and I unlike my DH love to drive in the snow! I was actually shaking buy the time I decide it was just to dangerous to stay on the road and I turned around!

Well today is another good day to knit and listen to podcasts...when isn't it a good day to knit and listen to podcasts!

Oh last night I had the teens from our Youth group design quilt squares for a raffle quilt they turned out so beautiful...we sure have a bunch of creative teens!!!

Saturday I received yarn( ahhh) in the mail! It was my surprise package from Arlene from Arlene Knits and Tats! It was a lovely package of yarn( 4 balls!) needles tatting shuttles and thread! I may need to try a new craft Tatting...can you believe it there is a craft out there that I haven't tried!!!

That is the Monkey Sock by Cookie A that you see at the bottom...I know the pattern has been around for a while but I hadn't tried it yet...I'm slow...what can I say! What a wonderful pattern and fun to knit!
